Creative Art Tutor (based in March)

21 hours per week

Salary £20,708 pa (pro rata)

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic person to develop, manage and implement a programme of arts, crafts and drama-based activities for people with learning disabilities within a Day Service setting.

You will be responsible for devising and planning a rolling programme of imaginative and stimulating arts, crafts and drama based activities for the people we support.

You would also be teaching them new skills and working directly with the individuals to inspire and assist them to further build on their strengths.

Windmill Hydrotherapy Pool - Lifeguard Positions

Location: Fulbourn, Cambridge (CB21 5DZ)

Vacancy Type: Full-Time (35 hours) / Part-Time (Various Hours and Days Available) / Casual Relief Positions

Salary: £9.09 per hour (with PPO Qualification) / £8.45 (No PPO Qualification)

The Windmill Hydrotherapy Pool in Fulbourn, Cambridge is specifically dedicated to people with learning disabilities and physical support needs.

The hydrotherapy pool is designed with physical aids to allow easy access into the water. The Pool offers sessions for everyone ranging from toddlers to the elderly, and individuals who need short term rehabilitation to those with severe disabilities who require regular hydrotherapy sessions.

The successful Lifeguard will:

  • be aged 18+
  • have National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) - we will pay for your training
  • have excellent communication skills
  • have a good standard of physical fitness

Relief Artworks Co-ordinators - Fenland

Eddie’s are currently seeking to recruit Relief Artworks Co-ordinators for our Artworks service based in The High Street, March, Fenland.

Our Artworks service provides a programme of creative and stimulating arts, crafts and drama based activities for people with learning and physical disabilities.

If you are an empathetic and hands-on person, with a strong interest in creative activities, we would like to hear from you.

No two sessions at Artworks are the same and for the right person this will offer a rewarding and stimulating working environment.

The Edmund Trust are Eddie's sister charity who supports individuals with a learning disability across North Cambridge with sites based in Milton, Histon, Chesterton and Ely. The Edmund Trust provides a range of services which includes Supported Living, Residential Care, Respite Care and Domiciliary Support in the community; and have the following vacancies available:

Support Worker Positions

We believe in a person-centred approach where each individual makes choices about the way they live their lives and what activities they participate in. We support them to achieve their goals and aspirations. All of our support plans are tailored to the individual and regularly reviewed in partnership with others, ensuring the very best support for each individual.

If you are looking for a role where no two days are the same, e.g. Walking dogs, going bowling, swimming, teaching people how to cook, gardening, seaside visits, then please apply. We are looking to recruit Support Workers who are inventive, proactive, positive and interested in making a difference.

We are especially interested in people who have experience in supporting individuals with Autism, Down syndrome and behaviours that may challenge at times.

Full-time (40 hours a week), Part-time (various hours and days available) and Relief posts available. Starting salary £8.34 per hour (unqualified), £9.09 per hour (qualified NVQ2 or equivalent). Locations: Cambridge, Milton, Histon and Ely.

Key Requirements:

  • You have a keen interest in supporting people with a Learning Disability
  • You will be Inventive, Creative, Active and Enthusiastic in your approach
  • Have a sense of humour, be flexible and most of all a positive outlook
  • Be able to work in accordance with Support plans, Risk assessment, and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Show an enthusiasm in supporting individuals in a variety of activities including, swimming, walking, bowling, wall climbing and household tasks.
  • Be able to lone work at times
  • Be keen to support people to reach their full potential and be as independent as they can be
  • Level 2 Diploma/NVQ2/NVQ3 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
  • Experience in supporting individuals with Autism, Down syndrome or present behaviours that challenge, and have a willingness to learn about them.
  • Driving licence (desirable)
  • Basic literacy skills
