Creative Art Tutor (based in Waterbeach, near Cambridge)

 35 hours per week

£20,708 - £23,815 PA

Do you have experience of working in the creative arts? Do you have the ability and desire to support adults with learning disabilities to reach their potential through creative activities?

We are looking for someone to develop, manage and implement a programme of arts, crafts and drama-based activities for people with learning disabilities within ‘Artworks’, our day opportunities service.

You will be responsible for teaching new skills and working directly with individuals to inspire and assist them during the Artworks sessions.

You will be a caring and empathetic person, with a flexible and hands-on approach to meeting personal support needs.

Hydrotherapy Services Manager

Location: Windmill Hydrotherapy Pool, Fulbourn, CB21 5DZ

Vacancy Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week)

Salary: £24,850 to £27,956 per annum

Do you have experience of managing a hydrotherapy or leisure pool? Do you have the ability and desire to provide hydrotherapy services for people with learning and physical disabilities?

We are looking for an experienced Pool Manager to take on the responsibility for managing our hydrotherapy pool. As well as having the skills and expertise to run the facility you will need to be an empathetic person with a flexible and hands-on approach to meet the needs of our users.

Based at the Windmill Pool, Fulbourn, Cambridge, our hydrotherapy pool is part of a range of services offered by Eddie's and the role sits within this team.


  • To maximise its use principally (but not exclusively) for the benefit of people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities
  • To effectively market our hydrotherapy services throughout Cambridgeshire and to relevant users and referral agencies
  • In liaison with the Head of Services and Head of Finance to set the annual hire charges, operational budget and contract renewals for all users of the pool.
  • To monitor income and expenditure against the annual hydrotherapy service budget.
  • In liaison with hirers to devise and maintain a maximum programme of pool use, planning for necessary repairs, cyclical maintenance and cleaning and external professional checking of the pool, pool plant and equipment and the pool building.
  • To establish and maintain a key supplier base in order to run the hydrotherapy pool in a cost effective manner.
  • In liaison with the Finance Department to ensure that all hirers are invoiced on a monthly basis. To deal with billing adjustments for any extra hire sessions and cancellations.
  • To co-ordinate and manage the appropriate deployment of staff providing life guard support to pool users. To hold management and supervisory responsibility for all staff – permanent or relief - employed at the pool. To ensure that all staff remain appropriately skilled and qualified to undertake all life guard duties. To implement and action NPLQ training and ongoing assessment.
  • To liaise with health professionals and/or carers over the provision of appropriate hydrotherapy services to pool users to ensure personal needs are being met.
  • To devise and implement P.S.O.P. procedures.
  • To provide monthly reports on all aspects of pool usage, maintenance and repair costs and to provide reports on an ad-hoc basis as may from time to time be requested.
  • To ensure that risk assessments for the pool plant and equipment and building, pool activities and individuals are all in place. Such records are to be routinely updated as and when any relevant circumstance changes and must be subject to a full annual review. These records will be held safely and stored confidentially.
  • To ensure that the cleanliness of all areas of the pool is maintained at all times.
  • To ensure that the external areas of the pool building and the designated car parking area are well maintained at all times.
  • To work with our fundraising team on a fundraising strategy for the continued provision of our hydrotherapy services.


  • To attend all appropriate training sessions as and when required and in particular any/all retraining necessary to maintain the requisite level of qualification to discharge all the responsibilities of the post.
  • To undertake all/any tasks of a related work nature as from time to time may reasonably be required.
  • To work flexibly which could include evening and weekend working
  • To attend all relevant meetings including team meetings, supervisions etc.

  • To adhere to confidentiality and security of information at all times and in line with the Data Protection Act
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested from time

Location: Waterbeach, Cambridge (CB25 9LY) - Home-Working considered.

Vacancy Type: Part-Time (14 hours per week - Flexible)

Starting Salary: £20,708 pa FTE

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Fundraiser to join our team. With responsibility for initiating community fundraising activities and liaison with current and potential supporters, the role includes promoting the charity’s services through face-to-face and digital communications. You will be spreading the message of the charity and inspiring members of the public to support our work.

You will have a proven track record in individual giving/ community fundraising, with the ability to achieve annual income targets. You will also have the skills to produce persuasive marketing materials, manage fundraising and marketing campaigns and have excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.

Windmill Hydrotherapy Pool - Relief Lifeguard Positions

Location: Fulbourn, Cambridge (CB21 5DZ)

Vacancy Type: Casual Relief - Various hours and days available

Salary: £9.09 per hour (with PPO Qualification) / £8.45 (No PPO Qualification)

The Windmill Hydrotherapy Pool in Fulbourn, Cambridge is specifically dedicated to people with learning disabilities and physical support needs.

The hydrotherapy pool is designed with physical aids to allow easy access into the water. The Pool offers sessions for everyone ranging from toddlers to the elderly, and individuals who need short term rehabilitation to those with severe disabilities who require regular hydrotherapy sessions.

The successful Lifeguard will:

  • be aged 18+
  • have National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) - we may pay for your NPLQ training
  • have excellent communication skills
  • have a good standard of physical fitness

Support Worker Positions

Key Requirements:

  • You have a keen interest in supporting people with a Learning Disability
  • You will be Inventive, Creative, Active and Enthusiastic in your approach
  • Have a sense of humour, be flexible and most of all a positive outlook
  • Be able to work in accordance with Support plans, Risk assessment, and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Show an enthusiasm in supporting individuals in a variety of activities including, swimming, walking, bowling, wall climbing and household tasks.
  • Be able to lone work at times
  • Be keen to support people to reach their full potential and be as independent as they can be
  • Level 2 Diploma/NVQ2/NVQ3 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
  • Experience in supporting individuals with Autism, Down syndrome or present behaviours that challenge, and have a willingness to learn about them.
  • Driving licence (desirable)
  • Basic literacy skills
