Volunteers Get Together!

Cambridgeshire Mencap says a big Thank You

Situated on the edge of the picturesque Midsummer Common and overlooking the River Cam, the Fort St George is an ideal meeting place. And on Wednesday 18th July Cambridgeshire Mencap took over part of the pub to welcome its volunteers to a social evening.

The volunteers enjoyed excellent food whilst catching up with each other. The evening was also an opportunity for them to support each other whilst getting to know one another and have fun.

Volunteers Evening July 2012

Volunteers include people who act as Befrienders, who make friends with adults and young people with learning disabilities. Other voluntary roles include Family Support volunteers who provide respite and support for local families who have children with learning disabilities.

The charity organises three evenings annually as a way of saying thank you to its volunteers.
