Train With Us! Our New Training Service

Open day on 17th October 2013

Cambridgeshire Mencap is a local charity offering support and services to people with learning disabilities. Working across Cambridgeshire, we provide lifelong opportunities for people with learning disabilities to help them create the lifestyles they choose and to be equal and active members of the community.

Underpinning the support and services we offer is the training we provide to our staff and volunteers. Now, in response to local demand and drawing on our in-house expertise, we are launching a new training service, offering a wide range of training courses.

To raise awareness of our new training service, we are holding an open day on the 17th October 2013 at Artworks, 88 The High Street, March, PE15 9LB from 11am till 2pm. This event is open to people working with vulnerable adults or children in any capacity, such as support workers, personal assistants, teachers, teaching assistants, family members, police officers etc.

Come along to find out more and meet the charity's training team. We will explain the training courses we offer, which include Adult Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Epilepsy, Emergency First Aid at Work, Manual Handling and Challenging Behaviour, to name but a few. Tea and cake will be provided.

If you would like to find out more, please do get in touch with Melanie Burke, our Care Training Manager on melanie@cambridgeshiremencap.co.uk or 01223 883148.
