Chief Executive begins his cycle from Ickleton to Paris in aid of Eddie's

This morning, 66 year old Ray Olds, Chief Executive Officer at Cambridge Online Systems, set off on a 300 mile four day cycle ride from his home Village of Ickleton near Cambridge to Paris in aid of their charity of the year ‘Eddie’s’ raising funds for their Family Support Service for Cambridgeshire residents with learning disabilities. He will be accompanied by 18 other cyclists who have fully funded the ride, so that all monies raised go to their chosen charities.  These include The Red Balloon, supporting young people excluded from School, Macmillan Cancer Support, Ickleton Cricket Club and the The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  The idea was the brain child of Chris Collinson, Landlord of the Ickleton Lion as a way to celebrate his 40th Birthday on the 12th September.

On day 1 Ray will cycle to Reading, then onto Portsmouth on day 2.  After an overnight ferry to Le Harve he will then cycle to Vernon on day 3, arriving in Paris on day 4.
