Student Joseph Clark received a silver medal and Lawrence Speakman was highly commended at the inaugural Inclusive Skills Competition at the NEC, in Birmingham, on Saturday 21st November.

With more than 100 spectators and an expert judging panel looking on, the competition covered a range of skills linked to food preparation, food hygiene, health and safety, and presentation.

Catering course tutor, Sue Ridley said: “It was a great learning experience for our students and their success was an incredible achievement. This is a great recognition of our students’ capabilities.

“Entering the competition was nerve-wracking for all involved but it was a huge boost to their confidence and we are all extremely proud of them.”
