Windsor Half Marathon Success

19/10/2016

Eddie’s would like to say a huge thank you to Lorna Hopkins who recently ran the Windsor Half Marathon in support of Eddie’s and another charity Myositis.

Lorna Half Marathon

Lorna wanted to fundraise for Eddie’s as her mother visits the Windmill Hydrotherapy Pool in Fulbourn on a regular basis helping her with her PhysioExercise. Lorna’s mum was diagnosed with a rare muscular condition called Inclusion Body Myositis, and being able to use the pool on a weekly basis allows her some form of exercise which she really enjoys. Lorna raised a fantastic £1,200 for Eddie’s which will make a big difference.

Lorna said, “I wanted to do something to support Eddie’s because it’s such a great local charity. Opening its doors to people with mobility issues for PhysioExercise sessions means a lot of people get the opportunity they wouldn’t normally. The team need all the support they can to make sure these sessions are funded and able to keep supporting those less able”

Suzanne Lombardo, Community Fundrasier for Eddie’s said, “We are thrilled that Lorna wanted to take on such a great challenge for Eddie’s. Lorna has raised a fantastic amount for the pool, allowing us to update some of the current equipment and buy some new items that will benefit both Lorna’s mother and other pool users.”

If you’re thinking about fundraising for Eddie’s either by walking, running, cycling or holding your own event we would love to hear from you. At Eddie’s we are happy to help support anyone with their fundraising so please do get in touch Suzanne.lombardo@eddies.org.uk.
