Privacy policy

Eddies are committed to respecting your privacy and to complying with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

We have provided this privacy policy statement to help you understand how we collect, use and protect your information. We wish to help you make informed decisions, and learn how we may use your personal information.

This policy is effective from 10th April 2018.


We may collect the following information:

  • Full name
  • Contact and demographic information including email address
  • Information needed to complete relevant risk assessments
  • Medical information


We will process your personal information for our legitimate business and charitable interests, which include some or all of the following:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • To undertake statistical analysis
  • To improve our communication and services.
  • To occasionally contact you about the work of Eddies. You will always have the ability to decline future contact.
  • To invite you to Eddies events and services that we think may be of interest to you.
  • Recording and processing of any donations received
  • To claim Gift Aid on donations
  • To share relevant information with other professionals
  • To promote our services


All information provided to Eddies will be held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your personal details will not normally be disclosed to third parties. In some circumstances, however, we may need to disclose your personal details to a third party so that they can provide a service you have requested, or fulfil a request for information. Any information about you that we pass to a third party, is in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and used only to provide services and information you have requested.


We will not retain your information for longer than is necessary. This will normally be for a maximum of six years after our relationship with you has ceased.


Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over other external websites. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.


You may choose to restrict or prevent use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • Whenever you are asked to fill in a form look for the boxes that you can click to indicate how you would like us to contact you.
  • Electronic communications will contain an unsubscribe link.
  • You can ask us to remove you from our database at any time by e-mailing info@eddies.org.uk or by writing to us at the address below or calling us on 01223 883130.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you. A small fee may be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held about you please write to:

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to us or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
